چکیده

An easy and simple preparation method for individually dispersed single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in both liquid and dried solid states was developed using triphenylene derivatives. Furthermore, highly concentrated solution of SWNTs (0.7-0.8 %) was successfully prepared, and also the SWNTs were dispersed well after the addition of methanol (up to 70 %) for a long time. These properties (redispersion ability and dispersion to organic solvent) were not observed in typical dispersing surfactants, such as sodium dodecylbenzensulfonate and sodium cholate. These unique features of the surfactant-stabilized SWNTs promised to be highly useful for practical applications of SWNTs. E-mail address: [email protected]

Organic Solvent-Redispersible Isolated Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes Coated by in-Situ Polymerized Surfactant Monolayer

The dispersion of single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in solvents and their processability are of importance for various practical applications of SWNTs but have not been fully achieved yet. Here, we report the homogeneous and stable dispersion of individually isolated SWNT in alcohols using surfactant-aided noncovalent functionalization. This is the first utilization of surfactants for the di...

A First-Principles Study on Interaction between Carbon Nanotubes (10,10) and Gallates Derivatives as Vehicles for Drug Delivery

First principles calculations were carried out for investigation the novel 7-hydroxycoumarinyl gallates derivatives in gas and liquid phases using density functional theory (DFT) method. Computational chemistry simulations were carried out to compare calculated quantum chemical parameters for gallates derivatives. All calculations were performed using DMol3 code which is based on DFT. The Doubl...

Photophysical comparative study of amylose and polyvinyle pyrrolidone/single walled carbon nanotubes complex.

Progressive addition of hydroxypropylated amylose (AmH), from 0.05 wt% to 4.5 wt%, to single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in aqueous surfactant suspensions quenches the intrinsic near Infra-Red fluorescence of semiconducting SWNTs while dispersions obtained with a same amount of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) remain luminescent. Near Infra-Red emission spectroscopy (fluorescence and Raman scatte...

Charged Rod-Like Nanoparticles Assisting Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Dispersion in Water

A new dispersant for stabilization of single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in water that simultaneously utilizes three different dispersion or stabilization mechanisms: surfactant adsorption, polymeric wrapping, and Coulomb repulsive interaction, has been demonstrated. The new dispersant, a charged rod-like nanoparticle (cROD), is a cylindrical micelle wrapped by negatively charged polymers whi...
